My co-worker is a HUGE tea drinker. Diet Coke is to Holly what tea is to my co-worker – we’ll just say that.
The other day she offered me some chocolate tea. Has anyone else ever heard of this or tried it? I like tea and figured I’d give it a whirl.
My co-worker adds sugar to hers, but I didn’t have any sugar packets on me. Unfortunately, all I had was this stuff.
The verdict? Not bad….not bad at all! You DO have to go into it knowing it will NOT taste like hot chocolate. But I’m going to get some of my own for my frequent chocolate fixes.
I also stoleborrowed the idea from Lee and Emily of putting nut butter on my sweet potato the other night. Speaking of nut butters….I squealed like a little girl when I saw this on sale at my store last week for $4.99! (It’s normally over $7).
It is hands-down my favorite, but alas the most expensive. I usually opt for this:
I know…it sounded crazy to me, too – but given my love for sweet potatoes AND almond butter, how could I not at least try it?
WOW – Lee and Em, thank you SO much for this idea! It was AMAZING. Definitely once of those quick and easy dinners that I will be using often in the future.
Do you prefer sweet potatoes or regular? Or neither? I have always LOVED regular potatoes. I grew up *thinking* I hated sweet because the yams at my grandma’s always grossed me out.
But now that I’ve tried sweet potatoes….I could never go back!
Thank you all SO much for your feedback regarding my post on counting calories. I’m not trying to knock the habit at all because we all know it works! It’s just become a daily habit (obsession?), and I wonder if that is good for me. So….tomorrow I’m going to try and NOT count calories. It will be difficult and of course, like many of you foodies, I know the calorie counts of pretty much all that I eat! But I’m going to try and go on how my body feels, rather than what I think it needs/doesn’t need based on that number.
Wish me luck!

Chocolate tea sounds great!! I love tea too!! I drink a big cup of green tea everyday and swear that my tea habit is why I rarely get sick being around endless amounts of germs each day. I’ll have to check this choc. tea out…
So glad you liked the sweet tater with nut butter!! I think you could pretty much put nut butter on anything and I’d eat it, haha! I think broccoli and steamed veggies are next, haha!!
GOOD LUCK tomorrow!! I know it’ll be hard not to count, but I think you should definitely at least give it a try and see how you like it. I actually didn’t count at all this weekend and it was so liberating. Let us know how it goes!!
i’ve had chocolate tea before and for me, it just didn’t do it. it was fun and different, but just not how i wanted to have my chocolate.
i admire you for giving the calorie counting a break. i’m still too chicken to try. good luck and please let us know how it goes!
Glad you like it! I like both regular and sweet potatoes. I like to put salsa or marinara sauce on regular potatoes.

I’ll be thinkin’ about you tomorrow with your no-calorie-count plan, hey I may even try to join in with you for a lil’ extra bloggie support! Isn’t weird how since we have so much knowledge of food/calorie counts that it’s seriously easier said than done…?! Have a wonderful night girl, and thanks for the giveaway shout out!
Mmmm, I’d try chocolate tea! I typically only drink herbal tea since I don’t like caffeine, but I think I could make an exception
I grew up thinking I hated sweet potatoes, too. Especially because the ones in the dorms at college were GROSS! Turns out I don’t hate them that much and actually prefer sweet potato fries to regular fries.
Good luck tomorrow!
YAY!! Good luck *not* counting calories today!! I expect a full report back. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE almond butter. My fave is Justin’s — the maple almond butter that comes in a single-size serving. I make it last for two days of oats
Good luck, Holly! I’ve tried to not count but ultimately, it’s hard when we know so much … and I know counting works. However, you’re not in any need of losing weight — I am. So … that’s why I need to count (Points).
Chocolate Tea? I soooo want some!
Good luck not counting calories, just stay in tune with your body and you’ll be fine!
Chocolate tea sounds great to me! AB and sweet potatoes also sound great! I will be trying that one!
nut butter on sweet taters??? that sounds like dessert!
mmmm.
I should look into this chocolate tea!
Never even heard of chocolate tea – but I think my mouth would expect hot chocolate and I’d be disappointed.
I am not a sweet potato lover by themselves, I don’t mind them in casseroles or soups though – that being said my Mom loves baked sweet potatoes and puts butter and maple syrup on it.
I kind of just threw up in my mouth a little when I typed that last sentence!
