I’m finally back for part 2 of my recap!
I have to apologize for taking such a long break, and I know I haven’t been keeping up with your blogs, too.
Things have been pretty crazy (a good crazy), and I just kind of wanted to take a break for a little bit. I think I might be posting about once a week for awhile….I’ve just gotten a little burnt out from blogging, but I don’t want to completely "quit"! I hope that is okay with you guys!
I really didn’t want vacation to end….Hilton Head is truly one of my favorite places, and I loved spending the whole week with my family. And best of all, I didn’t worry about eating/working out all week.
Reid’s first time in the water!
If you ever get to HH, you MUST get yourself to the Flamingo House of Donuts….no words!!!![]()
I got in runs every day but one, but I went because I WANTED to – NOT because I felt I had to. It’s been years since I’ve been able to run on a beach…I wasn’t about to pass that up! I also crave cold foods in the heat (always), so I stuck to my greek yogurts and cereal for breakfast, and spinach salads with avocado and lots of veggies for lunch (yum).
However, it was SO nice to not get anxiety about dinners, like I have in the past. I ate generally what my family was eating for dinner – spaghetti, Emily’s King Ranch Chicken Casserole (it was a HIT, Em!), part of a calzone, some pizza, etc. While most of these are typically things I wouldn’t eat for dinner (except Em’s casserole!), I really do like those foods and ate them very intuitively – I stopped when I was full, and that was that.
And of COURSE we made room for ice cream (usually McDonald’s….because that’s how we roll)
every single night! (Okay, not true….I think we went one night without. Moderation, you know).
Overall, I think it just goes to show you it’s SO much easier to eat intuitively when you are not stressed and are truly happy. Well, for me, anyway.
I promise to catch up with your blogs this week…I miss you all and hope you’re having a great week!

MISSED YOU!!!!!!!! But of course I totally understand needing to live life a little and take a break from blogging!
I’m certain I’ll have to back away from blogging soon since I start back to school and as you know, the beginning of the school year is CRAZY.
Loved reading your recap!! And ummmmmmm, YUM!! I want those donuts!!!!!!! Especially the one on the far right… I squealed when I saw it and showed Andrew and he doesn’t share my enthusiasm for it, but I would pay good money just to sink my teeth into one of those!!
So glad yall enjoyed the casserole!! And most of all, so proud of you for enjoying yourself and not worrying about the food. You have come so far and I am so, so proud of you!!

Those donuts look fab. I read once that gourmet donut shops will eventually replace cupcake shops? Either one makes me smile.
