Need Your Help – Public Speaking and College Advice!

Tomorrow I have my second interview for another position I am considering.  It is an all day interview, and I’m mostly nervous because I have to give a presentation at the end of the day.  It is an Admissions Counselor position at a small, local university, and I would be presenting to the other Counselors (as if they were high school students and I was there to talk to them about coming to this university).

So here are my questions:

If you went to college (or are going now), was your college big or small? Did you like it, or not – and why?

My college was VERY big – about 35,000 people at the time I went.  At the time I liked that, but looking back, I would definitely choose something smaller for myself.  I’m the type of person that prefers a more family atmosphere in a school – it drives me to do better when I know everyone and get that individual attention.

What about you?  Any tips for me tomorrow?

(They will mostly be looking for HOW I speak in front of them – eye contact, how I present myself, how comfortable I am speaking publicly – rather than WHAT I actually say.  But I still could use all the tips I can get!)

There Were Never Such Devoted Sisters

Okay.  No more talk about ice.  I promise.  :-)

Happy Thursday, everyone!  Hope you’re staying warm and enjoying this interesting week.  At least Super Bowl Sunday is gettin’ close!!

Blog Challenge – Day 4

(Your favorite photograph of your best friend)

I really hate narrowing things down to one person, because I hate feeling like I might hurt someone’s feelings.  ;-)

To be honest….I’m not one of those people who has a BFF that I can call anytime of the day or night.  I have friends I’m very close to, but my closest friends have always been my sisters.

My sisters and I are all close, but in very different ways.  My oldest sister, Kelly, has always been more “motherly” – she was the one who came to get my car (in the middle of the night….with a newborn in tow!) and bailed me out of jail when I was arrested.  She is someone I always know I can count on, and she NEVER judges me for the mistakes I’ve made in my life.

Kristy and I hated each other really didn’t get along during High School.  But I remember going away to college (where she was a Junior) and how things changed.  We were both in the depths of our eating disorders, too, at the time.  Our personalities are pretty similar (or at least, I’d like to think so!) and she is usually the person I go to whenever I have a problem.  I honestly don’t know what I’d do without her.

What about you?  Who is your best friend?  If you have siblings, are you close to them?
