Fighting the Funk

Do you ever have days when you’re in a funk, for no reason in particular?

Sure, there were some little things that happened that kind of set me off…

Like my doctor calling me today to tell me my pap smear results were “funky” – um….who wants to hear that word when you’re talking to your OB/GYN?   He said basically my “cells are abnormal.”  I’ve been through this before and have to get another colposcopy, but it’s still scary.

Then there was my co-worker who was interviewing people all day long to replace me, and wearing the biggest smile on her face all day long.  Can’tcha just pretend you’re sad I’m leaving?

Finally a friend of mine was giving me grief over something silly, and it really made me feel bad (I know I’m being vague…more to come on this later).  Sensitive much?  I know….

Plus, it being a Monday didn’t help matters.

The good thing about having a funky day is that the next day is always better.  (Well, 99.6% of the time).

What is something good that happened to you today?  (Or, um, yesterday?)  :-)

  1. I’ve definitely had my share of “off days”. Usually they pass with no issues. I hope that this is one of those occasions… :)

  2. The rain threw me off today. I (so badly) wanted to stay in bed and watch movies. I didn’t, but it really would’ve been nice if I had…

  3. I’m sorry you had a funky day! Tomorrow will be better!!! Xoxo

  4. bah! Mondays do stink! Sorry to hear yours was extra funky. Something good that happened to me yesterday? I exchanged a bathing suit and ended up with really cute maternity clothes :)

  5. I hope everything is okay with the doctor.

When I quit my last job this summer, I think I just played on the internet all week for my last week.

  6. I HATE when I get stuck in a funk – and it’s not for a BIG reason but for lots of little ones that just add up over the course of the day. Hmph. I hope your night ended up better than your day and at LEAST it’s Tuesday and you can almost say “peace out” to your current employer, wahoo!

  7. Thanks for entering my giveaway!

I do have funks sometimes…especially when it’s crappy outside. I hope you get out of yours soon. Exercise typically helps me, but I’m sure you already know that :)

  8. I hope today is better for you. We all have those days. It’s good to recognize how you are feeling about the events in your life. Doctor stuff generally puts me in a funk..

  9. Sending big hugs your way Holly – yep, I know how it goes when just ONE MORE THING gets added to your plate – and you are right – the next day usually is better! :D

  10. [...] going much, much better than yesterday.  It’s a new day!  I’m glad I’m not alone in feeling funky every once in awhile.  It happens, ya [...]

  11. I totally get the ‘funk’ – I was sort of that way last night, but for no good reason at all. It happens. Today’s a new day, right? :)

  12. Aww, I hope everything is okay! That’s scary to get a call like that. :(

  13. Ugh! All of those things would put me in a funk too. Especially the doc and friend thing. Okay, and the coworker thing too. My mom called me tonight and usually we have awesome convos but she was bitching the whole time and that kind of put me in a bad mood.

I hope today was better! A good thing that happened to me lately? I got to go to NYC! And you just got back from Chi-town!
